I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban - Malala Yousafzai with Christina Lamb

''One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world.''

Malala Yousafzai is the youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate at 17. An extraordinary voice as a school-going girl who stood against the Taliban for young girls and the inherent right to education. In her memoir, Malala gives an insight into her early years and childhood - the rise of the Taliban and her outspokenness clash and eventually leads to her being the person we know her as today - as the person symbolic of education for young girls.

Malala is a shining inspiration for young people, worldwide. She redefined the societal norms and the discriminatory status quo, for the better. The book reveals her journey, as she breaks the vicious cycle and stands up for what she knew and believed was right.

Her supporter and best friend throughout this journey was her father, Ziauddin Yousafzai. He held her hand every step of the way and never let her go, even during her critical condition after the assassination attempt which had left her in hospitalization and everyone hopeless. Malala and her father shared an irreplaceable bond. He had played a major role in raising his daughter to be the light of his lamp, the star of his sky and a voice that fought for justice. He was outspoken as well, but did not fall down to the threats against him, nor did Malala.

'I am Malala', which was Malala's response to the Taliban gunman when he asked for her, is now the statement that displays her immense courage, confidence and her fearlessness to be who she is. It is famous, not as the words that almost cost her her life, but as the words that have produced a strong, rippling impact on people and even their leaders. The words that redefined our perspectives about women and education. The words that have brought hope into the hearts of the desperate.

This is Malala, and this is her story.
